CONTESTS

In honor of my latest book coming out on August 1, 2015, I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of the usual book launch party which would only benefit me and the people who live close by and not all of you who've spent time with me over the years on social media and those I've met at all the book signings I've done, I've chosen to do something not only different but for a few short days it'll make others happy. Ease the daily stress in a few people's lives. Show your fellow man you care!

I've chosen to do a "Pay It Forward" contest. Yep, I'd like to celebrate my book, "The Wrong Wedding" by making it the right thing to do for someone else.

First Place Winner receives a 7" mini Hexa tablet, plus an autographed copy of "The Wrong Wedding" by Maggie Rivers. (Other trinkets may or may not be added as time goes along.)

Second Place Winner receives a $75.00 gift certificate, plus an autographed copy of "The Wrong Wedding" by Maggie Rivers. (Other trinkets may or may not be added as time goes along.)

Third Place Winner receives a $50.00 gift certificate, plus an autographed copy of "The Wrong Wedding" by Maggie Rivers. (Other trinkets may or may not be added as time goes along.)

10 Runners Up receive an autographed copy of "The Wrong Wedding" by Maggie Rivers. (Other trinkets may or may not be added as time goes along.)

HOW TO ENTER:
1. You must do a "Pay It Forward" good deed and post what you did on Maggie's "Pay It Forward Contest" page on Facebook along with a photo showing you doing your good deed. A selfie of you doing it is okay. Entries posted elsewhere will not be counted.
2. You may enter as many times as you like. Each "Pay It Forward" good deed earns one entry.
3. What constitutes a "Pay It Forward" good deed: you must do something anonymously for someone else, not related to you. Pay for someone's meal at a drive thru, or leave money for someone's groceries. If you know someone who could use some extra groceries, buy them and leave them on their porch (ring their doorbell then hide). Buy a bunch of coffee-to-go and hand them out on the street to the homeless. Knit a scarf and give it to a homeless person. Cut some flowers from your garden and deliver them to someone - maybe an older person in your neighborhood, in a hospital or nursing home. If you're unsure whether or not something you have in mind counts, email me and ask. It does not have to cost money.

THE RULES:

1. Contest is open to U.S. residents only. While anyone may participate in doing a good deed, the winners will be chosen from Continental U.S. residents and prizes mailed only to Continental U.S. addresses. Sorry for not including other countries, but I cannot guarantee mail delivery outside the U.S.
2. All entries must be placed on Maggie's "Pay It Forward Contest" page on Facebook. An entry consists of written words as to what good deed you did for someone else along with a photo showing you doing it.
3. Each "Pay It Forward" good deed posted earns one entry to the contest. You may do as many good deeds as you like. The more you do, the more entries you get!
4. Contest runs from July 1, 2015 to July 31, 2015 closing at midnight (CDST - Iowa time) on July 31, 2015. Winners will be drawn from all entries and the winners announced August 1, 2015.

Of course, if you are so inclined, I would most definitely like it if you bought my book, took a look at my website (http://www.maggierivers.com) and signed up for my newsletter. (I definitely don't bombard you with newsletters either. I'm lucky if I send out one a year!) But, that is not a requirement at all.

Go out and have some fun. Not only will you lift the spirits of the person you do the good deed for, but you'll lift your own spirits as well as those who read about what you did. So get out there and do as much good for mankind as you can!
